The theme for this year’s conference is “Working Together,” aiming to put tenants at the forefront of the housing service provided by the local authority. The event builds on past successes and promises to be another showcase event celebrating the collaboration between tenants and staff in shaping housing services.
The conference will cover various topics, including the launch of the council’s new tenant participation strategy, changes in housing services, advice on the Rent Assistance Fund, and awareness on winter fuel payments and Winter Heating Payment Scotland, particularly for pensioners. The event will provide opportunities for tenants to engage in consultations, Q&A sessions, and networking with other tenants and organizations.
Starting with registration at 9am, the conference will kick off at 10am, offering a day filled with housing news, discussions, and information sharing. Attendees will also have the chance to visit stalls at the marketplace, featuring organizations like Police Scotland, home energy teams, and Citizens Advice. Councillor Michael McPake, the housing convener, expressed his excitement for the event, highlighting the growth in tenant participation year after year.
Tenant participation manager Tracy Lennon encouraged tenants to attend the conference to learn more about the services, improvements, and collaborations with other organizations. The event will showcase the impact tenants have had in shaping and improving services through the “You said, We did” initiative.
