Big Brother stirs controversy as ITV pulls episode to censor housemate’s pro-Palestine T-shirt
Big Brother has ignited a wave of backlash after deciding to withdraw an episode from ITVX and later re-upload it due to a contestant appearing on screen wearing a pro-Palestine T-shirt.

The contestant’s choice of attire swiftly sparked outrage, with The Campaign Against Antisemitism lodging a complaint with Ofcom, expressing concerns over the implicit message portrayed. They stated, “How is this becoming the norm? This graphic has caused significant distress among the British Jewish community, who regard it as a genocidal message similar to the slogan ‘From the River to the Sea’, which calls for the elimination of the world’s only Jewish state.”
The episode of Big Brother was promptly removed from ITVX on Tuesday evening before being re-uploaded to the streaming platform on Wednesday, featuring Bromley’s T-shirt digitally altered to a plain black design.
A spokesperson for Big Brother clarified, “All Housemate items are checked by our production team before they go into the Big Brother House to ensure they comply with the Rules and compliance requirements.” They expressed regret for the oversight in understanding the implications of the T-shirt and assured viewers that the item has since been removed from the House.
