‘I live in Tenerife – tourists must beware of major problem at ghost town airport’

A Brit living in Tenerife has raised concerns for tourists visiting the island and encountering a significant issue at one of its airports. @seb_tenerife shared a warning on TikTok after experiencing a problem at Tenerife South Airport before an early morning flight. He described the airport as a ‘ghost town’ due to everything being closed at that time, advising travellers to come prepared with food or coins for vending machines. Many holidaymakers in the comments related to his situation, sharing similar experiences of shops and eateries being shut during early hours.

In a separate video, Seb highlighted the prevalence of pickpockets and scammers in Tenerife, particularly in areas like Playa de las Americas and Veronica’s strip. He urged visitors to stay vigilant and safeguard their belongings to avoid falling victim to such activities. Additionally, he cautioned against a common scam where individuals ask to borrow a phone, only to abscond with it once unlocked.

This warning serves as a reminder for travellers to be cautious and plan ahead when visiting popular holiday destinations, to ensure a safe and hassle-free experience.
