A befriending charity in South Lanarkshire is celebrating a significant funding boost that will enable it to continue its vital work over the next three years. LEAP, based at Hamilton Road in Cambuslang, has been awarded a generous grant of £200,000 from the National Lottery Community Fund. This funding will support LEAP’s befriending, learning, and leisure programmes, allowing the charity to enhance the lives of older people in the community.
LEAP caters to individuals aged 50 and over in Lanarkshire, including areas like Rutherglen, Cambuslang, Blantyre, and East Kilbride. The charity offers a wide range of activities such as walking football, tai chi, fitness classes, and art sessions. With a base also in Craigallian Avenue, Cambuslang, LEAP has now received a total of nearly £1.4 million in funding from National Lottery players.
