The Foschini Group Acquires White Stuff for £50 Million
South African-based retail firm, The Foschini Group (TFG), has purchased the high street fashion chain, White Stuff, for around £50 million. TFG, which also owns brands like Hobbs, Whistles, and Phase Eight, expressed its intention to expand White Stuff’s network of stores and concessions following the brand’s recent positive growth.
Established in 1985, White Stuff currently operates 113 stores and 46 concessions in the UK, along with six stores and 25 concessions across Europe. In the financial year ending in April, the company saw its revenues reach a record £154.8 million.
Despite the acquisition, White Stuff’s chief executive, Jo Jenkins, will remain in her position, while co-founders George Treves and Sean Thomas will step down from the board. Justin Hampshire, the CEO of TFG London, emphasised their commitment to supporting White Stuff’s expansion plans and enhancing its online presence.
