A Paisley man, Anthony McDermott, drove his Audi A5 dangerously while under the influence on October 10, hitting a bollard, a wall, and a parked car. McDermott, from Iona Drive, confessed at Paisley Sheriff Court that he had recklessly driven his car, repeatedly speeding and causing damage along the way. The 40-year-old drove on the wrong side of a one-way street, collided with a stationary vehicle, and smashed into a wall on routes in Glasgow and Paisley.
McDermott also failed to stop and exchange information with the owner of the parked car he hit. When arrested, he behaved aggressively and refused to provide breath samples for analysis. The procurator fiscal depute called for the forfeiture of McDermott’s vehicle, which was currently undrivable in his driveway, as revealed by his defence agent, Sam Anderson.
