Details of Renfrewshire’s October holiday activity camps have been announced, reminding Paisley residents that OneRen’s activity camps are returning for the autumn break courtesy of Active Schools Renfrewshire. Taking place from October 14 to October 18, these camps offer a variety of activities to keep kids engaged and entertained during their school break.
The program includes a mix of indoor and outdoor sports, football activities, and disability sessions to cater to different interests and abilities. For children in primaries one and two, there are options like the multi-activity camps at On-X Linwood, where trained staff will lead various sports and activities such as dance, archery, basketball, and tennis. The camp promises indoor and outdoor sports, a bouncy castle, and outdoor challenges regardless of the weather.
Additionally, there is a OneRen fun football camp at Park Mains High School, suitable for both beginners and experienced players looking to enhance their skills. Each day at this camp features football-related themes developed by certified Scottish FA coaches to help players improve their technique through skill practices and games.
In response to the growing demand for outdoor adventures, there is a popular multi-activity camp available for P7s to S6 pupils, with each day focusing on a different activity like rock climbing, paddle sports, and mountain biking. Furthermore, there are specially designed disability sport and activity sessions for P1 to S6 children, including a multi-activity session on October 15 and a water polo session on October 17, catering to families with a young person with disabilities or sensory impairments.
Fiona Watson, sport and health manager at OneRen, expressed excitement about the upcoming October activity programme, highlighting the diverse range of activities offered to keep children entertained during the holidays. Families are encouraged to participate and book early due to the camps’ popularity.
