The Kilmarnock Foal Show Society’s Annual Show of Clydesdales witnessed the mighty Herkules steal the limelight as he triumphed in the competition, showcasing his beauty and strength. The event took place on a picturesque autumn day at Ayr Auction Market, with the judging held outdoors under the warm sun, allowing both spectators and exhibitors to relish the fine weather. The Show Committee expressed their gratitude to Messrs. Craig Wilson Ltd. for their support and the use of the market premises for the event.
The prestigious title of Supreme Championship went to Mr RH Black of Newton of Collessie, Ladybank, Fife, for presenting the outstanding 1st prize Senior Filly Foal, Herkules Texas Hold ‘Em on behalf of Mr Christian Paulson from Sweden. The Reserve Supreme title was claimed by Mr Matthew Carrick of Easter Littleward, Kippen, with his remarkable two-year-old filly, Littleward Katy, who had a successful show season.
Mr Neil Christie, a well-known Clydesdale expert from Balfron, near Glasgow, officiated as the judge for the 2024 Show, adding his expertise and experience to the event. Notably, Mr Black’s success at the Kilmarnock Foal Show follows his appearances on the popular TV series, “This Farming Life.”
The competition saw participants from various categories showcasing their prized horses, with winners including A&E Campbell, Matthew Carrick, and Agnes Jackson & Alan Craig, among others.
