Police appeal for information after biker is rushed to hospital following crash in Holytown

Police in Holytown are appealing for information following a crash involving a biker and a pedestrian on Stevenston Street. The incident occurred around 5.35 pm on Wednesday, October 30. The crash involved a black, orange, and white Surron motorcycle. The 29-year-old motorcyclist was rushed to Wishaw General Hospital in a serious condition, while the 18-year-old pedestrian was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

The road was closed for approximately six hours to allow for investigations to be conducted. Sergeant Chris McColm stated, “Our enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact us. We are also appealing to anyone driving in the area at the time with dashcam footage to come forward.”

Enquiries are being made to establish the full circumstances surrounding the crash. Anyone with information is urged to contact the police on 101, quoting incident number 2945 of October 30, 2024.
