Nathan Johnston, a 25-year-old from Fife who is understood to be a trans male, was supposed to be sent to women’s jail Cornton Vale but ended up at Perth jail due to the error. Johnston is facing charges of attempted murder, assault leading to severe injury, permanent disfigurement, and danger to life.
