Dancing on Ice: Meet the celebrities competing next season

The much-anticipated return of Dancing on Ice is set to grace our screens once again, with 12 new celebrity contestants already confirmed for the upcoming season. Season 17 of ITV’s beloved ice skating competition is slated to make its comeback in 2025, although the exact premiere date is yet to be announced, tradition dictates it will likely be in January. Contestants are gearing up to commence their training as early as next week.

Hosting the upcoming season will be the dynamic duo of Holly Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern, returning for a second consecutive year. Mulhern stepped in for Phillip Schofield last season following his departure from the network due to personal reasons.

The excitement heightened on Monday when ITV revealed the star-studded lineup for the next season. Some of the confirmed contestants include reality TV personalities and renowned broadcasters. Among the celebrities announced so far are personalities like Ferne McCann, Mollie Pearce, Sir Steve Redgrave, Sam Aston, and Charlie Brooks.

Ferne McCann, known for her appearances on The Only Way Is Essex and other TV competitions like I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here, expressed her eagerness for the challenge ahead. Speaking on Good Morning Britain, she shared her excitement about joining the show and her competitive spirit.

Following McCann’s announcement, Mollie Pearce from the series Traitors was revealed as the second contestant. The 22-year-old model, who has previously skated with her mother, expressed her readiness for the competition on Lorraine. Pearce has been a pioneer in disability modelling, promoting adaptive clothing for individuals with conditions like ulcerative colitis.

Adding to the stellar lineup is Olympic rower Sir Steve Redgrave, a five-time Olympic gold medalist, who is no stranger to fierce competition. Coronation Street actor Sam Aston, best known for his role as Chesney Brown, is also set to grace the ice with his presence. Joining them is Charlie Brooks, famous for portraying Janine Butcher on EastEnders, who is looking forward to embracing the experience and avoiding any potential leg-breaking incidents.
