A group of feral youths have caused chaos in a Scottish park by aiming fireworks at people, prompting a warning from the police ahead of Bonfire Night. The incident took place at Blackburn Skatepark in West Lothian on a Sunday evening, with footage circulating on social media showing fireworks being fired at park-goers. In a video clip, one youth can be seen shooting coloured fireworks into the sky before turning them towards trees, as onlookers can be heard laughing and encouraging the behaviour. This comes after a separate incident in Edinburgh on Halloween, where a female police officer was injured when a police vehicle was targeted with bricks. Fireworks were also directed at officers and passing buses in Niddrie, leading to the charging of two youths aged 14 and 17.
Chief Superintendent David Robertson, commander for Edinburgh division, stated that investigations are ongoing following violent attacks on buses and police officers during the Halloween disturbances. He highlighted an incident where a police officer was injured after a brick struck the vehicle window, causing it to smash.
