Dumfriesshire SWI quiz event was a mix of fun and head scratching

Dumfriesshire SWI Federation President, Mima Telfer, hosted the annual quiz event at Dumfries High School recently, welcoming seventeen teams from institutes across the county. The quiz proved to be a delightful mix of fun and head-scratching for all participants. Mima led as an excellent compere, while Jane Hogg ensured timekeeping was on point. To keep competitors alert, members of the executive provided tea, coffee, and home-baked biscuits. Vice President Norma Rae extended a comprehensive thank-you to everyone involved in the smooth running of the evening, especially question setter Elizabeth Thomson for crafting a varied question set.

The champion of the quiz was Ewes SWI, comprising Susie Grant, Marjorie Pringle, Tessa Lumley, and Lorraine Morton. The runners-up were Wamphray, with members Veronica McNeish, Jacqueline Hogan, Lorna Bell, and Mary Duncanson. Georgetown SWI secured third place in the closely contested event. The winning teams received their prizes from Federation President Mima Telfer, capping off a successful and enjoyable quiz night for all involved.
