A man attacked and injured three young children as they were heading to a day-care center in Zurich, Swiss police reported. The incident occurred in the Oerlikon district of Switzerland’s biggest city, with officers responding shortly after midday. The children were accompanied by a woman who works at the facility when the man suddenly stabbed them.
The center employee, aided by another man, managed to overpower the assailant and detain him until law enforcement arrived. The suspect, a 23-year-old Chinese national, was subsequently arrested. Three 5-year-old boys were taken to hospitals, one with serious injuries and the other two with injuries of medium severity, according to a police statement.
