Talented Newmains Teenager shines in “Wizard of Oz” Pantomime at Glasgow’s SEC
Thirteen-year-old Jack Brown from Newmains is set to dazzle audiences this Christmas in a leading role in the upcoming production of “Wizard of Oz” by the Theatre School of Scotland. Jack will portray the character of the Lion in this magical pantomime, scheduled for 11 performances at the Scottish Event Campus. The pantomime is set to run from December 19 to 23 and features a cast of 100 children, bringing the classic story to life.
Jack’s mother, Tracy, expressed her pride in her son’s achievement, stating, “It’s a big part for him but when we found out he had got a part he was absolutely delighted.” Jack’s passion for drama and acting has been evident since he was four years old, dedicating six days a week to honing his craft. Already boasting a resume that includes roles in productions like Outlander, The Last King, and The Last Bus, Jack aspires to make acting his career.
Director of the Theatre School of Scotland, Reece Donnelly, highlighted the importance of providing young talent with opportunities to showcase their skills and build confidence.
