A teenager in Scotland was left seriously injured after being hit by a taxi, leading to the arrest of a 58-year-old man for a road traffic offence. The incident took place on Rutherglen Main Street on Bonfire night. The 16-year-old pedestrian was struck by a black Mercedes Vito taxi and was transported to the hospital for treatment of his injuries. The arrested man was released pending further investigations.
The collision prompted the closure of the road until around 8.15pm for authorities to conduct an investigation at the scene. Police are urging anyone with information or dashcam footage related to the incident to come forward by contacting 101 and quoting reference 2428 of November 5, 2024.
