An Arkansas man who passed away in prison more than 20 years ago has been identified as a suspect in the case of a 6-year-old girl who disappeared in 1995. Police Chief Jeff Pointer revealed that Billy Jack Lincks has been identified as a suspect in the disappearance of Morgan Nick, who was last seen playing at a Little League ballpark with her friends. This information was disclosed during a press conference with Morgan’s family.
Lincks, who died in prison in 2000, was previously arrested for attempting to abduct a girl a few months after Morgan went missing. The FBI named him as a person of interest in Morgan’s disappearance back in 2021. Hair found in a truck owned by Lincks was confirmed to belong to either Colleen Nick (Morgan’s mother), one of Colleen Nick’s siblings, or one of her children, according to Pointer.
After conducting follow-up interviews with members of the Nick family, it was determined that none of them were acquainted with Billy Jack Lincks or had ever been in his truck. The missing child alert system in Arkansas is named in honour of Morgan. Her case was also featured in a Hulu documentary series in 2023.
The development in identifying a suspect in Morgan Nick’s disappearance has brought renewed attention to the case and provided hope for closure for her family after almost three decades of uncertainty.
