Stirling Community Campaign Raises £35,000 to Send Scottish Mum for Treatment in US Clinic
The Stirling community has come together to support Dana Gardiner, a brave mum-of-three from Falkirk, in her battle against Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) and Functional Neurological Disorder (FND). These conditions have left Dana unable to work or carry out daily tasks, pushing her to seek treatment in the US. With no NHS-provided solution, colleagues from the Cold Beer Company pub in Stirling initiated a fundraiser to send Dana to a clinic in Arkansas for vital treatment.
The fundraiser has gained tremendous support, raising nearly £35,000 to date. Dana expressed her gratitude to the community for their generosity, highlighting the impact their donations have had on her and her family. She stressed the importance of staying strong for her children and husband amid the challenges posed by her illnesses. Colleague Nicola McGuinness, who set up the fundraising page, emphasised the life-altering effects of Dana’s conditions and the hope that the Arkansas clinic offers for her recovery.
The fundraising goal is set at £75,000, with donations pouring in from various sources, including a significant £10,000 contribution. Dana’s story has touched many hearts in the Stirling area, inspiring a wave of support and goodwill towards her journey to healing. As the campaign continues to gather momentum, the community stands united in backing Dana’s quest for a chance at a normal, healthy life.
