A violent and controlling rapist from Denny, John Allen, has been sentenced to jail for carrying out a campaign of abuse against two women. Allen, aged 28, was found guilty of 10 charges on August 26 after a trial at the High Court in Stirling. The abuse included shouting, swearing, derogatory name-calling, and threats to harm himself. He restricted one victim’s contact with her family and friends, made her sign a contract with certain behaviors, controlled her finances, and dictated her appearance and contraceptive use. Allen violently assaulted one of the women by stamping on her head multiple times and even entered her car without permission, threatening her life.
At the High Court in Glasgow on November 12, Allen received a 13-year extended sentence with nine years in custody and was added to the sex offenders register indefinitely. Non-harassment orders were granted to prevent him from contacting the victims. Scotland’s Procurator Fiscal for High Court Sexual Offending, Katrina Parkes, praised the bravery of the women for coming forward and emphasized the importance of reporting such crimes. Detective Inspector Forbes Wilson from Police Scotland’s Public Protection Unit commended the victims for their strength and encouraged others to report similar offenses for support and justice.
