Skoda Elroq: The Affordable Family EV Priced from £31,500
Skoda has recently unveiled its latest electric SUV, the Skoda Elroq, offering families a budget-friendly option with prices starting at £31,500. This new EV is positioned as a smaller and more economical alternative to its larger counterpart, the Skoda Enyaq.
Available in three different battery sizes, the Elroq caters to various driving needs. The entry-level SE 50 model features a 55kWh battery with a claimed range of up to 230 miles, while the SE L 60 variant boasts a larger 63kWh battery offering 250 miles on a single charge. For those seeking higher performance, the Edition and Sportline models come with either the 63kWh battery or an 82kWh unit providing an impressive range of up to 360 miles.
Charging speeds are impressive, with the 82kWh battery capable of charging from 10 to 80 percent in just 28 minutes, thanks to its 175kw charging capacity. Even the smallest battery option offers quick charging speeds of up to 145kW, reaching 10 to 80 percent charge in just 25 minutes. The mid-range SE L model is priced at £33,350, while the top-of-the-range SportLine 85 model comes in at £41,600.
Despite being labelled as a compact SUV, the Elroq shares a similar size with the Enyaq, offering ample cabin space with only minor differences in boot capacity. The design language of the Elroq follows Skoda’s new ‘modern solid’ theme, focusing on functionality and authenticity while maintaining the brand’s signature style.
Inside the Elroq, passengers can enjoy a spacious and comfortable environment with convenient storage solutions throughout the vehicle. From cup holders to USB-C charging sockets, the interior is designed to cater to modern needs. The quality of materials used is praised, with sustainable fabric options and thoughtful design details enhancing the overall driving experience.
Tech-savvy drivers will appreciate the 13-inch infotainment screen and the advanced digital cockpit, as well as features like Skoda’s digital assistant, Laura, and a head-up display for enhanced navigation. The Elroq also offers a range of safety systems and driver assistance features, including adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assistance.
As Skoda prepares to launch the Elroq for orders in October and deliveries expected in 2025, driving enthusiasts can look forward to experiencing the sportier performance and design elements of the Sportline models. With its attractive pricing and modern features, the Skoda Elroq is set to make a mark in the competitive EV market.
