The young boy was found severely injured and was airlifted to Glasgow Children’s Hospital, where he spent six days receiving treatment.
Calon’s mother, Barbara Wright, expressed gratitude towards the Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS) staff for their exceptional care and support during the traumatic incident. She praised their efforts in ensuring her son’s comfort and providing reassurance to the family throughout the ordeal. Without the prompt action of the emergency crews, Barbara believes Calon may not have survived.
Six months later, Calon had the opportunity to reunite with the paramedics who helped save his life during a visit to the SAS’s ScotSTAR base. Barbara described the reunion as a heartwarming experience, where they had the chance to express their thanks in person. The crew was amazed at Calon’s recovery and the young boy was grateful for the exceptional care he received.
