A historic landmark in Airdrie, the Tudor Hotel, is set to re-open its doors this week after undergoing a significant refurbishment. The 20-bedroom hotel, which is celebrating its 80th anniversary, has been taken over by Mohan Singh Aujla, who has spearheaded a complete makeover of the interiors, introducing updated décor and enhanced facilities.
Under the new management, the hotel’s function rooms and popular restaurant have been given a fresh new look with a vibrant layout. The kitchens have also been revamped with state-of-the-art equipment to cater to 170 covers, offering a diverse range of menu options to guests. Despite the changes, all existing employees will be retained, with plans to expand the team by creating up to 20 new jobs across various departments including the hotel, reception, and dining areas.
Aujla expressed his excitement about managing the beloved local landmark, stating, “We’ve expanded our menu offering to include Italian, Scottish, and Indian dishes, along with a new full range of Cremco Fish and Chips.” Furthermore, the hotel will showcase locally sourced and freshly prepared food on-site, including lunch specials, pre-theatre menus, and a delightful Christmas menu for guests to enjoy throughout the festive season.
In addition to the restaurant overhaul, two on-site function rooms and Harry’s Bar are currently undergoing redecoration. A soft launch opening event is scheduled for November 14, allowing the public to experience the newly refurbished venue firsthand. Aujla affirmed the commitment to preserving the Tudor Hotel’s legacy and announced the creation of up to 20 new jobs to meet the growing demand for the hotel’s enhanced services.
