Stirling Station Collection Raises £700 for Children in Need
Stirling showed its generosity once again last week as Pudsey Bear made a special visit to the city to raise funds for Children in Need. The fundraising effort was organized by the Stirling and Bridge of Allan Round Table and saw Pudsey making appearances at various locations around the city. Pudsey first appeared on the summit of Dumyat, capturing the attention of early morning walkers and joggers. This was followed by a successful fundraising session at Stirling Station, marking the first time since the Covid pandemic that such an event took place. Commuters generously donated to the cause, with Pudsey even receiving a mention on Scotrail’s social media accounts.
On a busy Friday, Pudsey visited a total of 11 primaries and nurseries across Stirling, including Riverside, St. Ninians, Cornton, Fallin, and Braehead schools, as well as Little Stars Allan’s nurseries. One of the highlights was the visit to St. Ninians Primary, where Pudsey interacted with the children in each class, receiving a warm and enthusiastic welcome. The day ended with a visit to Blair Drummond Safari Park, where Pudsey met some of the park’s animal residents, such as giraffes and meerkats.
The fundraising effort has been a success so far, with the JustGiving page set up for the 2024 fundraiser raising over £700. There are hopes that this total will continue to rise in the coming days, contributing to the overall fundraising campaign for Children in Need.
