Stirling City Centre Launches Festive ‘Penguin Trail’ for Christmas
Families in Stirling can embark on a fun-filled adventure this festive season by participating in the ‘Penguin Trail’ around the city centre. The trail, named ‘Chilly’s Family Reunion’, follows the story of Chilly the Penguin and his colony members who have become separated and lost across the city. To reunite the penguin family, participants can pick up a map from Central Library or the Made In Stirling store, or download one online, and visit 15 shops where festive penguin scenes are painted on the windows by local signwriter Ross Hastie.
The missing penguins have delightful names such as Ice Cube, Halle Brrry, Penguini Alfredo, and Hopper Potter. Various city centre businesses are involved in the trail, organised by Go Forth Stirling Business Improvement District (BID), offering participants the chance to enjoy penguin-themed promotions and offers. Some of the activities include a colouring station at Clan Artisan, letters to Santa at Tinkerbell’s Emporium, and discounts at Christmas shop Tinsel & Tartan.
Josie Brown, Events Coordinator at Go Forth Stirling, expressed excitement for families to engage with the city’s first Penguin Trail and discover the diverse shops and attractions Stirling has to offer. Upon completing the trail, participants can submit their maps to Santa’s Post Box at the Go Forth Stirling office for entry into a prize draw.
