Jordan Spiers of Cumbernauld suffered lacerations to his spleen, kidney, and three fractured ribs after colliding with another player while playing goalkeeper for Carron Huskies against Corstorphine Dynamo. The 30-year-old was later rushed to the hospital twice within days, with the second visit being due to a blood clot in his bladder.
Describing the incident as a “freak accident,” Jordan recalled feeling excruciating pain after the collision, with sensations of his ribs clattering against each other.
