Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag, is calling on his players to maintain belief as they aim to recover from their recent 3-0 Premier League loss to Tottenham. The team is set for a Europa League match away to Porto on Thursday followed by a league clash with Aston Villa at Villa Park on Sunday.
With United having lost three of their first six league games, which has increased the scrutiny on Ten Hag, they currently sit in 13th place in the table. However, the Dutchman remains resolute ahead of their upcoming fixtures and is not dwelling on his job security.
“I am not thinking about it. I am not anxious,” Ten Hag told Sky Sports. “We are going to make a success from the season. Nothing is easy but there is nothing for me to panic about. We can sort this out, this team can sort this out.”
Acknowledging the poor performance against Tottenham, Ten Hag emphasized the importance of addressing the team’s issues and providing solutions while maintaining belief. He highlighted that keeping faith is crucial, as losing faith would mean losing everything.
Despite the recent setbacks, Ten Hag praised the team’s resilience, stating, “This is a team, they want to fight for each other. When we lose, everyone is disappointed and frustrated, but it is also our fuel.”
The manager is determined to block out criticism and concentrate on the task of revitalizing United’s stuttering start to the season. “You have to deal with criticism and don’t make a big deal of it… We are there together and we have to fight together to get out of this,” he asserted.
