Renowned Author Alastair Chisholm to Speak at Dyslexia Group Meeting in West Lothian
Acclaimed author Alastair Chisholm is set to be the guest speaker at an upcoming dyslexia support group meeting in West Lothian. Dyslexia Scotland West Lothian, part of a network of volunteer-led branches across Scotland, will host the event on Thursday, December 5, at The Jim Walker Partnership Centre in Bathgate from 6.30pm to 7.30pm.
Alastair Chisholm, known for his award-winning works including picture books, chapter books on dragons, and sci-fi novels for older children, will engage with attendees during the interactive session. His novel “Orion Lost” was shortlisted for the Waterstone’s Children’s Book Award, and “Adam-2” was recognized as the Blackwell’s Children’s Book of the Year. Chisholm’s first book with publishers Barrington Stoke, titled “Reek,” aims to make reading more accessible to all.
The event will delve into various topics such as science-fiction, predicting the future, transformative ideas, and the greatest human inventions. Open to all, particularly aimed at eight to 14-year-olds, the session offers participants the opportunity to win copies of “Reek” and other dyslexia-friendly books.
