Author Maggie Ritchie is set to captivate members of the Stewartry Literary Society with her passion for writing and art. The event, titled “Art and Fiction-Undeniably An Addiction,” will be hosted at Broughton House in Kirkcudbright on December 11.
Ritchie, renowned for her novel “Paris Kiss” which delves into the tragic love story of sculptor Rodin and his muse Camille Claudel, will enchant the audience against the backdrop of two Rodin masterpieces at Broughton House. Additionally, her work “Daisy Chain,” inspired by the ‘Glasgow Girls’ and set in Kirkcudbright and Shanghai during the Roaring Twenties, showcases her extensive research and creative prowess.
Attendees at the event, starting at 2.30pm (doors open at 2pm), will have the opportunity to gain insights into Ritchie’s latest project featuring a female artist entangled with Russian spies, who was once a student of renowned artists Joan Eardley and Margot Sandeman.
