Gregg Wallace’s ghostwriter has made new claims regarding sexual harassment allegations. Shannon Kyle, the ghostwriter of Wallace’s 2012 autobiography, accused the MasterChef star of inappropriate behavior during their collaboration. More than a dozen individuals have come forward with allegations against Wallace, including making sexual remarks, inappropriate jokes, and groping. Wallace has vehemently denied these claims through his legal representatives, stating that he does not engage in sexually harassing behaviour.

Amid the controversy, Shannon Kyle spoke out on Newsnight, accusing Wallace of sexual misconduct. Kyle detailed incidents where Wallace allegedly acted inappropriately, including making explicit sexual remarks, advances, and inappropriate touching. She described his behaviour as “predatory” and “revolting,” alleging that he made lewd comments and touched her without consent during their work together on the autobiography.

Kyle recounted instances where Wallace greeted her in a towel, dropped the towel in her presence, and made suggestive comments during interviews. She also claimed he initiated physical contact, such as a “really big hug” and pressuring her for a kiss. Kyle expressed feeling vulnerable and pressured due to her professional relationship with Wallace and the presence of a non-disclosure agreement that emphasised loyalty and confidentiality.

In response to these allegations, Wallace announced his decision to step away from his role on MasterChef. He apologised for previous remarks and stated his intention to take a break while an external investigation is conducted. Banijay UK, the production company behind MasterChef, confirmed an independent review into historical misconduct allegations involving Wallace. The BBC reiterated its zero-tolerance policy and pledged support for the investigation.

Shannon Kyle believes that speaking out against inappropriate behaviour is crucial and hopes that sharing her experiences will hold Wallace accountable. Wallace has denied the allegations, with his legal team refuting claims of sexual misconduct and inappropriate behaviour towards Kyle.
