Brian Cox to spend as ‘much time’ in UK as possible after Trump wins US election

Scottish actor, Brian Cox, has announced his intention to spend as much time as possible in the UK following the results of the US presidential election. Cox, known for his role in Succession, has been vocal about his opinions on President-elect Donald Trump, referring to him as a “monster” during Channel 4’s live coverage of the US election. When asked if the election results have affected his faith in people, Cox stated that it hasn’t made him lose faith, but rather made him realize that people can be “stupid.”

Regarding his future plans, Cox expressed uncertainty about staying in the US and mentioned his intention to spend more time in the UK. Despite his ties to the US, particularly because of his sons living there, Cox emphasized his desire to be in the UK. The actor, who grew up in Dundee, reminisced about his time at drama school in London during the 60s, a period he described as a time of social mobility and acceptance.

Reflecting on his experience in London, Cox highlighted the sense of freedom and acceptance he felt, emphasizing that the city represented a place where he could truly be himself and be celebrated for his background. In addition to his acting career, Cox has taken on roles such as voicing Helm in the upcoming anime film Lord Of The Rings: The War Of The Rohirrim and starring in the play The Score at Theatre Royal Haymarket, London, starting in February. The actor’s decision to spend more time in the UK reflects his sentiments about the current political climate and his connection to his roots.
