Nationwide customers could be eligible for free £100 account bonus if they meet certain criteria

Nationwide customers may be entitled to receive a £100 account bonus if they meet specific requirements, as announced by the building society. The potential bonus is set to be paid into qualifying accounts in June of next year.

According to Nationwide, the bonus is part of their initiative to share profits with members who engage in banking and borrowing or saving with the society. The one-off payment of £100, referred to as the Nationwide Fairer Share Payment, will be made to those who meet the eligibility criteria.

To qualify for the bonus, customers must have a qualifying current account, savings account, or mortgage. For current accounts, customers must have had their account open on March 31, with additional requirements based on the type of current account held. Specific conditions apply for FlexAccount, FlexDirect, or FlexBasic holders.

Savings account holders will qualify for the bonus if they had at least £100 in total in their Nationwide personal savings accounts or cash ISAs by the end of March 2024. Qualifying mortgages require a minimum debt of £100 on the residential mortgage by March 31, excluding certain subsidiary mortgages and uncompleted applications.

Nationwide clarifies that eligibility terms apply to each individual for joint accounts, meaning both account holders can qualify for the payment. Payments are scheduled to be made between June 13 and June 28 next year, directly into the Nationwide current account of eligible customers.

In case of any incorrect exclusions, Nationwide assures that steps will be taken to rectify the issue. However, the bank advises customers to review their eligibility and contact them if any discrepancies are found. Payments will reflect as the Nationwide Fairer Share Payment on account statements.

Overall, this bonus scheme by Nationwide provides a potential financial benefit to eligible customers. It highlights the building society’s commitment to rewarding and sharing profits with its members, fostering a sense of mutual benefit and partnership in banking relationships. Customers should review the eligibility criteria to ensure they don’t miss out on this opportunity for a valuable account bonus.
