A new bar and restaurant offering is set to enhance the experience at the Savoy Park Hotel in Ayrshire. The family-run three-star hotel and wedding venue has been granted approval to introduce these new facilities following a successful planning permission application for alterations and extensions. The changes aim to address the need for additional hotel facilities, specifically a bar and restaurant.
The plans presented by the hotel’s management sought to expand their existing single-storey garden workshop into a bar and restaurant space to cater to guests and events effectively. Council planners have given their support to the proposed enhancements, which will be carried out by ARPL Architects, with Mrs. Lucy Ingham as the applicant. The additions are designed to create a separate space for the bar and restaurant, allowing for continuous operation seven days a week without hindrance from other functions.
The new building is planned to incorporate a seating capacity of around 60 covers, providing ample space for guests to dine and relax. Additionally, a woodland garden to the west of the new structure will be developed to complement the hotel’s surroundings. The interior design is envisioned to be bright and airy, maintaining the existing building’s charm with minimal alterations. The project also focuses on sustainability, aiming to utilise the space efficiently while preserving the hotel’s character.
The proposal received mixed feedback, with nine representations submitted, out of which four objected, and five remained neutral. The planning approval highlighted the inclusion of a sufficient number of off-road parking spaces and the potential for sustainable transport options like public transport and cycling. The hotel’s location was deemed suitable for the proposed developments, ensuring minimal impact on neighbouring properties.
The addition of the bar and restaurant is seen as essential to the hotel’s continued success and aligns with similar ventures in the area. The project aims to enhance the local leisure offerings, attracting both residents and tourists to the region. With the green light given, the Savoy Park Hotel looks forward to providing an elevated experience for its patrons, further solidifying its reputation as a premier hospitality destination in Ayrshire.
