Ten men arrested for ‘organised drug activity’ at Edinburgh city centre hotspot

Ten men have been arrested in connection with organized drug activity in the Edinburgh city centre over the past week. Following reports from locals about illegal activities in the Old Town, Police Scotland executed a search warrant at an address in north Edinburgh believed to be linked to the organized drug activity. Substances and other items were seized, and two men were arrested as a result. This recent development comes after eight men were arrested on December 6 in Hunter Square and on the High Street following concerns raised by members of the public and businesses.

According to Edinburgh Live, plain-clothed officers have been conducting patrols in response to the reports of drug activity in the area. Police Scotland South East Edinburgh posted on social media, “A further two males were arrested this week for organised drug activity in the Old Town area of Edinburgh. A search warrant was then executed at an address in north Edinburgh, where an amount of substances and other items were seized as part of the enquiry.” Further patrols are planned into the New Year to address any ongoing drug-related issues in the area.

In a statement released on December 6, Police Scotland mentioned, “Police patrols will continue into the New Year with both uniformed and plain-clothes officers.
