Historic Bridge of Allan clock flattened after being hit by car placed in storage ahead of repair

The iconic clock, situated outside the Westerton Arms in the town, was removed from Henderson Street and transported to storage by the restoration firm. The incident occurred when an orange Mini Cooper allegedly hit the clock after leaving a car park, then continued to collide with two parked cars before finally striking the clock tower, causing it to flatten.
Following the accident, the driver of the vehicle, a 78-year-old individual, was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital for treatment and later charged with road traffic offences. Police investigations are ongoing, with authorities appealing for witnesses and any dashcam footage from the area at the time of the incident.
Stirling Council expressed relief that no one was harmed in the accident and is cooperating with the police investigation.
