Stirlingshire route set for month-long closure as pipe replacement work begins

Stirlingshire Route to Undego Month-Long Closure for Pipe Replacement Work

Residents in west Stirlingshire are in for a month-long road closure as Caledonia Water Alliance (CWA), acting on behalf of Scottish Water, prepares to install fresh water mains along Cuilts Road on the B821 between Carbeth and Blanefield. The project aims to commission a new water main to improve water services for over 54,000 individuals in parts of west Stirlingshire, East Dunbartonshire, and West Dunbartonshire.

Starting on January 8, the roadworks will require a four-week closure of Cuilts Road, about 100 metres beyond Carbeth Guthrie Estates. While access for residents will be maintained from the east, Scottish Water is advising customers and road users in the Carbeth area to expect road traffic management measures during the construction period.

A Scottish Water spokesperson assured that they have worked closely with local authorities to plan the project efficiently and will strive to minimise disruption and inconvenience to customers and road users. They express gratitude in advance for everyone’s patience and understanding during the essential pipe replacement work.

In the midst of this disruption, Scottish Water’s initiative is vital in ensuring a more reliable and efficient water supply for thousands of people in the region. The Cuilts Road closure signifies a step towards better water infrastructure and services, even amidst temporary inconveniences. Be sure to plan alternative routes and stay updated on any traffic advisories during this period.
