Wojciech Szczesny has made a surprising return to professional football, just 36 days after announcing his retirement. The Polish goalkeeper has signed for Barcelona to help fill the gap left by Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s long-term injury.
Barcelona confirmed the signing of Szczesny as a free agent, following the injury to German goalkeeper Ter Stegen, who underwent surgery for a ruptured patella tendon in his right knee.
