Police in Dundee have uncovered a significant cannabis operation, estimating the value of the farm at a staggering £1.7 million. During searches at properties in Lorne Street and Ash Street earlier this year, police discovered over 3,000 cannabis plants. Two individuals, Indrit Saraci, 27, and Adiol Hila, 37, admitted to drug offences and were subsequently sentenced at Dundee Sheriff Court on October 1. Saraci received a prison term of three years and nine months, while Hila was sentenced to three years and four months.
Speaking on the matter, Detective Constable Luke Doogan emphasised the detrimental effects of drugs on individuals and communities. He highlighted the commitment of authorities to combat drug-related crimes and underscored the importance of public cooperation in reporting suspicious activities. The discovery of this cannabis farm underscores the ongoing efforts of the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country’s Serious and Organised Crime Strategy in tackling illicit drug operations.
