Christmas festivities brought joy and excitement to the halls of St Aidan’s High School in Wishaw as the term came to a close. The celebrations kicked off with two delightful performances of “Peter Pan Goes Wrong” by senior Drama students. The play, a West End favourite, showcased the students’ comedic talents and was thoroughly enjoyed by S1 and S2 pupils.
Logan Byrne, portraying Captain Hook/Chris, expressed his delight in participating in a school show during his final year, highlighting the hard work put in by all involved. Miss Brand, Teacher of Drama, commended the students as some of the most talented and creative individuals she had ever worked with.
The festive spirit continued with the traditional annual concert, where a variety of pupils showcased their musical talents under the guidance of the Music Department staff. Classic Christmas songs were performed, and musicians had the opportunity to shine in front of an appreciative audience.
A special day followed, with pupils entertaining pensioners and care home residents with music and performances, accompanied by a delightful afternoon tea. The community members were impressed by the talent displayed by the students and thoroughly enjoyed the event.
In a heartwarming gesture, S6 students embraced the role of Santa’s elves, welcoming S1 pupils from another school for a day of music, games, and gift-giving. The kindness and inclusivity shown by the older students left a lasting impression on all attendees.
As the term wrapped up, a staff lunch provided a moment of gratitude and reflection, with Acting Head Teacher Mr Dominic Kennedy acknowledging the hard work and dedication of the staff throughout the term.
