Don Jr Engages in Heated Exchange with CNN’s Kaitlan Collins Over ‘Hitler’ Comments
Donald Trump Jr found himself in a tense post-debate confrontation with CNN’s Kaitlan Collins regarding remarks comparing his father to Adolf Hitler. The clash took place on Tuesday night following a debate between Ohio Senator JD Vance and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, broadcast live from CBS News’s New York City studio.
While Vance and Walz maintained a relatively civil exchange during the debate, Trump’s eldest son, Don Jr, grew agitated in the spin room and directed his frustration towards Collins. He attempted to shift blame onto the media for recent assassination attempts on his father, claiming they had radicalized individuals.
Collins refuted Don Jr’s assertion, stating that there was no evidence linking the media to the threats against his father. The conversation escalated as Don Jr accused the media of perpetuating a narrative that led to such violence, citing comparisons of his father to Hitler as an example.

The candidates addressed key election issues, such as abortion and the Middle East conflict, with CBS News later revealing that 42% of viewers considered Vance the winner, while 41% supported Walz.
In contrast to the contentious presidential debate involving Donald Trump, the vice presidential debate was seen as more positive by 88% of survey respondents. The constructive tone of the debate stood out amidst a highly polarised political landscape, offering a glimpse of a more civil discourse in US politics.
