Woman’s ‘Christmas dinner’ called ‘minging’ until people realised their mistake

Amy Hirst, a talented baker from Skelmersdale, Liverpool, is turning heads with her unique cupcake creations under her brand, Amy Bakes. Known not just for their delicious taste but also for their incredible lifelike designs, Amy’s cupcakes have gained a lot of attention online.

The 27-year-old’s journey as a baker began in 2014 when she dropped out of university after realizing it wasn’t for her. Back home, she started helping her pregnant sister by making cupcakes for her baby shower. The positive reactions from friends and family inspired her to dive deeper into baking and explore different designs.

By 2020, Amy was running Amy Bakes full-time and decided to test people’s perceptions by posting a cupcake that looked like a roast dinner on a Facebook group called Rate My Plate. The detailed fondant icing made the cupcake look extremely realistic, leading to confusion among the commenters who initially criticized it as a “minging roast dinner” before realizing it was actually a cake.

On Christmas Day, Amy shared a picture on Instagram with one of her most famous designs, a miniature roast dinner cupcake, thanking her customers for their support.
