The passenger was removed at Santander, and the flight then proceeded to Prestwick Airport. Glasgow Live reported that Ryanair apologised for any inconvenience caused to other passengers. One passenger, Andrew Stewart, shared on X, “Currently aboard the Ryanair flight from Benidorm to Glasgow Prestwick. We’ve had to land in Santander due to an aggressive passenger who has been arrested.”
A spokesperson for Ryanair explained, “This flight from Alicante to Glasgow Prestwick (28 Dec) diverted to Santander after a passenger became disruptive onboard. The crew called ahead for police assistance, who met the aircraft upon landing at Santander and offloaded this passenger before this flight continued to Glasgow Prestwick. We sincerely apologise to passengers for any inconvenience caused as a result of this unruly passengers’ behaviour, which was beyond Ryanair’s control. This is now a matter for local police.”
