Former NHS Lanarkshire Chief Executive Awarded OBE for Services to Healthcare

Former NHS Lanarkshire Chief Executive, Calum Campbell, has been awarded an OBE for his outstanding contributions to healthcare in Scotland. Campbell retired in the summer after serving 40 years in the NHS, with five of those years spent leading NHS Lanarkshire before moving to NHS Lothian in June 2020.

Campbell, who holds a BA Honours degree in Health Studies from the University of Paisley and an MBA from Glasgow Caledonian University, began his career as a nurse before transitioning into general management within the NHS. Throughout his tenure in various leadership roles in Scotland and Wales, Campbell has demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication to improving healthcare services.

Expressing his surprise and gratitude for the recognition, Campbell acknowledged the importance of teamwork in achieving success, praising his former colleagues for their support.
