Police in new appeal to help trace missing Scot who vanished 8 days ago

Police in Perth are appealing for assistance in locating a missing man who disappeared eight days ago. John McNeil was last seen in the city center on December 27, 2024, with his family raising the alarm two days later when he failed to make contact with them.

Authorities have been conducting interviews with individuals in the areas of Stanley Crescent, Crieff Road, and Viewfield Place, where the 52-year-old was last spotted. The enquiries aim to gather any relevant information that may help in locating John. Descriptions indicate that John is a white male, approximately 5ft 10 inches tall, with a medium build and short grey hair. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a navy work-style jacket, trousers, a light blue shirt, a navy tie, black shoes, and possibly a dark-colored hat while carrying a rucksack.

Inspector Duncan emphasized the importance of any sightings or information, stating, “I would again urge anyone who may have seen John since Friday, 27 December, to please get in touch.” Those with information are encouraged to contact the authorities by quoting incident number 1118 of December 29, 2024.
