Get your kilt on and take mighty strides to help Chris’s House in Wishaw

In a bid to support Chris’s House in Wishaw, organisers are inviting people to participate in the annual Kiltwalk event. Founded by Anne Rowan after the tragic loss of her son, the Wishaw-based charity Chris’s House (Centre for Help, Response and Intervention Surrounding Suicide) is a pioneering 24-hour, non-medical crisis centre in Scotland offering comprehensive support services.

Located on Belhaven Road in Wishaw, Chris’s House plays a vital role in providing integrated support and assistance to those in need. The charity is offering a limited number of free spaces for the Kiltwalk event, set to take place on Sunday, April 27 this year. Participants have the opportunity to choose between the Mighty Stride (23 miles) and the Big Stroll (14 miles) routes, with the goal of raising a minimum of £150 for Chris’s House.

Individuals interested in taking part and securing a spot can contact the charity via email at info@chrisshouse.org. This initiative presents a meaningful way for the community to come together, show support, and contribute to the invaluable work carried out by Chris’s House.

This event not only raises crucial funds for the charity but also raises awareness about mental health and suicide prevention in the local area. By participating in the Kiltwalk, individuals have the opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of those struggling with mental health issues.

Furthermore, this event promotes community engagement and solidarity, fostering a sense of unity and compassion among participants. By coming together to support a common cause, individuals are not only making a positive impact on the community but also fostering a culture of empathy and support for those facing mental health challenges.

In conclusion, the Kiltwalk event presents a unique opportunity for individuals to give back to their community, support a vital cause, and promote mental health awareness. By taking part in this initiative, participants are not only raising funds but also spreading hope, compassion, and solidarity in the fight against suicide and mental health stigma.
