Police in Paisley recently apprehended a cannabis farmer, Xhevahir Mema, after discovering a “distinctive glow” emitted by heat lamps in his top-floor flat. The authorities received a tip-off about potential cannabis cultivation in St Mirren Street. Upon investigation, officers not only detected a strong cannabis odour but also heard the hum of fans and observed the tell-tale glow of heat lamps commonly used in growing operations. Subsequently, a raid uncovered 197 mature plants in four rooms and the loft, totalling an estimated value of £118,000, along with nearly 15kg of cannabis buds worth around £53,000.
