New AI speed cameras have been making headlines as they successfully caught 849 drivers committing various traffic offences in just two weeks. The machines, equipped with high-tech software, have been deployed across the UK to crack down on road safety violations. During trial periods in March and June, a staggering 533 drivers were caught not wearing seat belts, including two children under the age of 14 sitting in the front passenger seat without any protection. Motoring experts Cinch obtained these alarming figures through a Freedom of Information request. Humberside Police confirmed the success of the trial and announced plans to use the cameras sporadically throughout the year.
