A hillwalker had to be rescued after falling while hiking on the Stac Pollaidh mountain in the Scottish Highlands. The incident occurred on the lower slopes of Stac Pollaidh, known for its great views and tricky scramble. The injured hillwalker was later taken to Raigmore hospital for further treatment. According to Walkhighlands, Stac Pollaidh has an ascent of 510m and covers a distance of 4.5km, with a completion time of two to four hours. The mountain offers stunning views over Assynt, the Summer Isles, and Achiltibuie. The route involves a tricky scramble to reach the true summit, with a pitched path making the ascent manageable. The return path on the west side is described as more challenging, while the climb to the ridge is steep and requires scrambling expertise.
