An unsettling mugshot of Axel Rudakubana, the 18-year-old perpetrator who stabbed three young girls to death in Southport, has been unveiled by the police following his guilty plea. The heinous crime took place when Rudakubana barged into a Taylor Swift-themed dance class during the school holidays last year and launched a frenzied knife attack. The Mirror reports that the teenager admitted guilt to the murders of Alice da Silva Aguiar, 9, Bebe King, 6, and Elsie Dot Stancombe, 7. Rudakubana, then 17, took a taxi to the Hart Space community centre on July 29, 2024, where the dance class was located, approximately five miles from his residence.
Alongside the tragic loss of the three young girls, Rudakubana also confessed to attempting to murder eight other children, as well as two adults, Leanne Lucas and Jonathan Hayes. The teenager admitted to all offences from the previous year’s gruesome attack during his appearance at Liverpool crown court. His defence counsel, Stanley Reiz KC, confirmed Rudakubana’s identity despite his silence in court. The presiding judge, Mr. Justice Goose, informed Rudakubana of his forthcoming life sentence, scheduled to be pronounced on Thursday. The court ordered Rudakubana to maintain communication with his legal representatives until the sentencing. Following the court proceedings, the 18-year-old was escorted back to his cell by dock officers.
