Gregor Campbell was caught with 24 kilograms of cannabis in his luggage at the airport in March the previous year. The 21-year-old had flown from Bangkok, Thailand, via Dubai. Procurator fiscal depute Abigail McKenna disclosed in Paisley Sheriff Court that the drugs had an estimated worth of £92,000. Campbell pleaded guilty to being involved in the supply of cannabis. Sheriff Thomas Ward noted the gravity of the situation, stating, “You were concerned in the supply of a very substantial amount of drugs. You haven’t been in jail before so I need to call for reports.” Campbell, residing in Campbeltown, Argyll & Bute, had his bail extended. The sentence was postponed for the production of a criminal justice report and a restriction of liberty order evaluation.
