Perthshire Butcher Unveils Unique Retro Game Featuring Scottish Stars for Burns Night Celebration

To commemorate Burns Night, Perthshire butcher Simon Howie has introduced a limited edition twist on the classic board game “Guess Who?” with a Scottish flair, aptly named “Haggis Who?”. This quirky game showcases hand-drawn illustrations by local artist Gail Stirling Robertson, depicting some of Scotland’s most renowned celebrities, including Lorraine Kelly, Andy Murray, Annie Lennox, Ally McCoist, and, of course, Robert Burns himself.

In a creative marketing move, the game also includes TV personality Carol Smillie, who features in a spoof ’70s-style advertisement promoting “Haggis Who?”. Simon Howie launched this exclusive edition of the game through a competition on their social media platforms, offering fans the chance to win a copy and own a piece of Scottish pop culture history alongside the featured stars.

Simon Howie, the owner of Simon Howie Foods based in Dunning, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “We love haggis and we love a pun so ‘Haggis Who?’ was born! It was great to collaborate with local artist Gail Stirling Robertson on the illustrations, and we are thrilled with the response from the Scottish icons included in the game. Everyone recognises it as a light-hearted celebration of Burns Night – just the kind of fun needed in January! I regret not producing more copies as the demand has been overwhelming. I encourage everyone to participate in the social media competition for a chance to secure one before they run out!”

Former ‘Changing Rooms’ presenter Carol Smillie shared her excitement, saying, “Burns Night is a cherished Scottish tradition, and I am delighted to be part of ‘Haggis Who?’ I look forward to enjoying haggis, neeps, and tatties while playing the game this Burns Night – a perfect way to celebrate!”

As the Burns Night approaches, Scots and fans of Scottish culture eagerly anticipate the opportunity to engage with this unique and entertaining homage to Scottish luminaries.
